Civil Case Reporting and Dispositions System
Legislation (Senate Bill 176) passed by the Georgia General Assembly in the 2000 session calls for a system to provide for transmission, compilation, and analysis of information relating to civil cases to be effective July 1, 2000. Attorneys file the case with the clerks and complete either a General Civil Case Filing Information Form**, Domestic Relations Case Filing Information Form**. Dispositions require the General Civil Case Final Disposition Form** or the Domestic Relations Case Final Disposition Information Form**. This information flows from the initiating attorney or individual in Pro Se cases to the State or Superior Court Clerk and then to the Georgia Superior Court Clerks Cooperative Authority to GCAC which in turn compiles the civil filings and dispositions data for the judicial branch and processes it for the Administrative Office of the Courts. The information provides the courts with a database of civil actions for case profiles, workload distribution, case counts, and tort data.
